Vacancy: Geo Environmental Engineer

Location: West Yorkshire, East Midlands, Hybrid/remote. Can comprise a mixture of office / remote working, provided you are available to support the wider team and clients.

Salary in the range of £25,000 to £30,000 depending on skills, location and experience.

From day one, you’ll be working on a wide range of projects nationwide, from ground investigations and contaminated land assessments to geotechnical design, remediation design and delivery and more.

What the role will involve

This is not a 9-5 office job. The role combines office and fieldwork (in all sorts of British weather). You will need to be self-reliant, a team player, a practical problem solver and a quick thinker.

• Conducting ground investigations; 
• Writing interpretive reports (including phase I/ II geo-environmental assessment, qualitative and generic quantitative risk assessment, ground gas assessment, geotechnical assessment);
• Preparing outline and detailed remediation strategies and techniques;
• Remediation design and delivery, working to install and operate physical in-situ treatment systems;
• Onsite operation of ex situ remediation programmes;
• Management of earthworks and materials/waste management; 
• Soil mechanics, determining characteristic values and calculation of foundation bearing capacities and settlements;
• Implementing and maintaining health and safety standards across the business; 
• Undertake site work nationwide including working away.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in relevant subject (engineering, geology, environmental, geotechnical)
• Postgraduate degree or masters in relevant subject (desirable, not essential)
• 0-3+ years relevant experience
• Full UK driving license (essential)
